Pharmaceutical companies aren’t completely evil. Without them, we wouldn’t have things like, for example, the COVID-19 vaccine. But when they’re making record profits and people’s quality of life is diminishing because we can’t afford the pills needed to keep us alive…well, something’s got to give. And as it turns out, that give is coming at the request of the Biden Administration. That’s right, for the first time in years, Medicare can flex on the drug companies when discussing drug prices. The impacts of this are legion, and will be felt for decades as more and more drugs become more reasonably priced, all while not negatively impacting drug research (in fact, potentially making drug research safer too).
