Military Stuff
You may not be aware of this. The United States military has, for centuries, been a place that held themselves to a higher standard. What that meant in the past was a refusal to align with any political ideology, for a good reason: the job of the military has always been to protect and defend United States citizens. This is why when we hear about things like military members, at an official military function, cheering for the defeat of one political party or the rise of another, we rightfully become alarmed. If the United States military somehow forget that they are here for all Americans, then they will necessarily be used against a set of citizens. Hegseth has and continues to try to politicize the military. This is the only thing that has been consistent through his alleged “leadership.” And yes, I put both, the word “alleged,” and the quotation marks around the word “leadership,” because he’s not doing any leading outside of attempting to paint liberals as enemies of the state.
I don’t think this will have the immediate effect that he wants. But over time, when fewer open-minded individuals choose to sign up, and only fascists are filling the ranks, this could be the most damaging thing that the administration is doing. I say that because once the military is politicized, what comes next is a bloodbath. What comes next is United States citizens versus the United States military, and all that that means. We must do better, and this podcast-isode explains what that means and why it must happen.
